Step-by-Step: How to Provide App Information in Apple App Store (iOS)

To provide app information in App Store Connect, follow these steps. This is essential for preparing your app for submission to the App Store.
Note! Some parts will usually be done by Future Ordering.

1. Log In to App Store Connect

Go to https://appstoreconnect.apple.com and log in with your Apple developer credentials.

2. Select "My Apps"

Once logged in, click on “My Apps” from the App Store Connect dashboard.

3. Create or Select Your App (usually done by Future Ordering)

  • If you haven't added your app yet, click the "+" button and select “New App” to create a new listing.

  • Fill in required fields like:

    • Platform (iOS, macOS, etc.)

    • App Name

    • Primary Language

    • Bundle ID

    • SKU

4. Go to the App Information Section

After your app is created:

  • Click on your app listing.

  • Select the “App Information” section from the left-hand menu.

Provide the following:

  • Name: The app name as it will appear on the App Store.

  • Subtitle: A short line to communicate the app’s value (optional but recommended).

  • Privacy Policy URL: Required if your app uses personal data.

  • Category: Choose a primary and optional secondary category.

  • Content Rights (if applicable): Confirm if you have rights to any third-party content.

5. Add a Version and Localized Info 

Click “+ Version or Platform” or select the existing version (e.g., 1.0) under “App Store” > “iOS App”.

Fill in:

  • What’s New in This Version

  • Screenshots (per device type and language)

  • Promotional Text

  • Description

  • Keywords

  • Support URL

  • Marketing URL (optional)

6. Upload App Icon and Screenshots

  • Provide screenshots for all required device sizes (e.g., iPhone SE, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPad).

  • Make sure they meet Apple's guidelines (JPEG/PNG, proper dimensions, no transparency).

  • The app icon is uploaded through Xcode during the build process, not directly in App Store Connect.

7. Set Pricing and Availability

  • Go to “Pricing and Availability”.

  • Choose your app’s price tier and availability by country/region.

8. Submit for Review (usually done by Future Ordering)

  • Upload your app via Xcode or Transporter. 

  • Once uploaded and processed, you’ll see the build appear under your app version.

  • Select the build, fill in export compliance and content review details, and click “Submit for Review.”
