Rule Manager is where you publish your current content. Create rules that enable and disable stores, categories, and products. Set up crossell/upsell for specific products and categories. Note that upsell rules do not enable products. Separate enable rules are needed.
- Creating Rules: Explaining the process of creating rules, including naming the rule, setting the index, and understanding how the index affects the rule's behavior.
- Rule Index: The index is used to determine the sort order of rules and can be used to override other rules or display content in a specific order.
- Publishing Rules: How to set the lifespan of a rule by scheduling start and stop times, and how to target rules for specific days and countries.
- Order Classes: How to target rules for certain order types, such as enabling a rule only for takeaway or app orders, and how to include or exclude specific stores.
- Cross Sell Products: How to choose categories and products for cross sell steps, set limitations on the number of cross sell products, and use basket filters to avoid promoting already added products.
- Page Index: Using page index to set the sort order when multiple upsell rules are present at the same step and how to display several upsell rules on the same page.

Rules
Stores, categories, and products are published by creating enable rules.
An (online) menu is created by enabling stores, categories, and products by using different rule types.
There are also disable rules for stores/categories/products. This can be used to hide a store/category/product, for example, schedule an end date for a discontinued product.

Best practices / Tips
When setting up the first rules, there are a couple of things to consider that will facilitate future work as more stores, categories, and products are added.
Set up "main rules"
When setting the main rules (for stores, categories, and products), preferably do not use option "All" instead, use "Specific" and click the checkbox for each store/category/product you want to add to your main rules.
Doing this minimizes the risk of automatically publishing new stores/categories/products that are added to the menu through POS-system or CMS. So when new stores/categories/products are added in the system, they will appear in current rules with a checkbox none checked. Now you can create a separate rule and set your choice of date for it to go live.
How to use "Index"
The "Index" is used to set the order the rules are read. This makes it possible to create a more flexible menu by creating rules that override rules with a lower index.
Example:
- Enable Rule for Main Products all year around. Index 5.
- Disable Rule for Hawaii pizza on Monday 10 a.m - 2 a.m. Index 10. (Temporary hide pizza in the main menu so you can display a temporary lunch offer. Separate Enable rule needed for the lunch offer)
- Rule enable Hawaii pizza again only on December 24. Index 12. (No lunch offerings on holidays, so this rule brings the main pizza back on this specific holiday when no lunch is offered.
